Russ Schlehuber is a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator and Branch Manager that lives, works, and plays in Northern Michigan. In addition to being a licensed mortgage loan originator in six states, he has experience as a real estate broker in Michigan and California. Not only is he a Certified Mortgage Advisor, but he has also earned his place in the nationally renowned Scotman's Guide's Top 1% loan originators several years running.
He served four years as an Infantryman in the United States Marine Corps. Following his time in the service, Russ attended college at The University of Montana, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a double minor in Marketing and Management.
He has been licensed in real estate since 1999, starting out working for the family real estate company in Northern Michigan. However, he discovered during his many years in real estate and property management that his real passion is in helping people secure financing for the American dream. After a ten-year stint in Southern California, he returned to northern Michigan, where he continues to provide first-class home loan services for clients in multiple states.
Past and current clients have praised him for his extensive knowledge, ability to be responsive, open communication, and knack for solving complicated problems that sometimes pop up in the loan process. His experience as a Realtor as well as a Mortgage Broker gives him a unique perspective on financing clients because he truly understands the challenges that may come up in the home buying process.
Russ enjoys boating, golfing, skiing, motorcycles, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. He resides in Walloon Lake with his wife, daughter, and dog, Bernie.
